Default Star Wars 3D question...

Recently word has been that Lucas confirmed turning the entire saga into 3D. Now my question is, are the films going to be re-re-released in theaters or are they going to be re-re-re-re-re-re-released onto DVD and Blu-ray for home entertainment?

Since there is no good way to view 3-D with current DVD and Blu-ray technology, it will be a while before any of these movies are released in any home format, so theatre release is the only way I see these "new" films being released in the next ten years or so.

I thought the original story was that they were going to be in theaters for Christmas!?!?

I enjoyed the 3d Nightmare Before Christmas, but the 3D-icity of it was not all that staggering. Besides the dog fights, I don't see how it is go to benefit us.

I quess we'll just see what we'll see.

In addition to the 3D, there will be additional changes/additions/deletions to the 6 movies.

One that I'm actually looking forward to, and that you can get a glimpse of on disc 4 of the original trilogy boxset, is the CGI Yoda that replaces the awful puppet Yoda in The Phantom Menace.

Knowing the Star Wars franchise, yes, these will be shown in theatres again.
