I'd rank exactly the same. I don't agree with the reviewers that give the PQ less than a 4. It really looks good all around.

I thought the SQ was great but there are a few scenes where the dialog is hard to hear so I knock off a little b/c of that.

Overall, I'm really happy with it. I was really looking forward to it and had high expectations but I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

I thought the special effects held up pretty well also. The only time it didn't look quite right to me was when there were closeups of the special effects and live actors mixed.

I thought PQ and AQ was not bad my wife bought it last night and we watched it. I had to keep turning it down. Sound was pretty good it woke my little daughter up a couple of times.

Let me guess... they are scenes where there are 200mph winds and houses being ripped to shreds and cars crashing around.....

I hate to say it, but in those particular scenarios, I would hope that the dialogue is "hard to hear." Making it as real as possible is key to the viewing experience. If I was standing where the camera lens was for some of those scenes, I probably wouldn't hear a damn thing EXCEPT the 200mph winds and houses being ripped to shreds and cars crashing around... no matter how hard the people were yelling their conversation at each other.

PQ is a 3 to a 3.5 for me. If you look at 1:15 in the movie, you'll see still grain... so still it actually looks like a still picture that they just added lightning to. The black levles are very inconsistant in the movie as well. I also thought it was soft and even a few shots are out of focus and dirty. But really, I wasn't expecting much for the picture on this. When I think of Twister, I think of dirt and darkness for some reason.

AQ is 4.5, but close to a 5. I know in a real situation, you shouldn't be able to hear dialogue when there's 200 mph winds swirling around someone, but then they shouldn't have been talking if we weren't supposed to hear it. Dialogue is always supposed to be the priority in soundtracks if you ask me. You should always have the dialogue as the main focus, but make the soundtrack as real as possible with that in mind. There's also a few moments when I can hear cuts in the score. That might just be me though as it's one of my favorites and I know what was recorded and how they pieced it together for certain scenes. Other than that, the movie has some of the awesomest (it's a word) sound effects ever.

So in short, big dumb fun enjoyable movie w/ bad acting, awesome sound, great score, alright PQ.

We watched it last night.

Still one of our favorite movies.

Very glad we purposely never bought it on VHS or DVD (I knew about PS3 blu-ray 3+ years before it ever hit a shelf so I stopped buying any movie on VHS or DVD).

Waiting for the blu was a wise choice.

Its the best transfer to date and thats all we could ask.
