'Twister' - Blu-ray Forum

Hi all,

I live in Australia (surprising!) and was wondering if anyone had any news on 'Twister' being released in Australia.

I am putting this thread here because apparently Australia is considered as a European region. Any help would be appreciated.

Import it, mate. It's region free. The PQ is terrible though.

Universal will release Twister on blu-ray the forthcoming months in Europe. It includes a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track and the same extras (except for one trailer) as the US release.

Just put this one in my wishlist today.. might have to rethink it if the PQ is that bad!

PQ is not that bad, i think it is a pretty good transfer. There is a some grain but that is not a bad thing, now the AQ is mind blowing! I say it is a definite purchase

The EU release from universal is more and likely going to be alot better then the Warner HD-DVD port from the US just by looking at the releases universal have done.

Universal don't screw up as much as warner do. I was not sure when this was coming out so I picked up the warner edition but I am so selling the warner HD-DVD port and picking up this universal release.

The PQ isn't terribly; it looks better than ever before but it doesn't dazzle. It's no Shoot 'em Up in the PQ department but as said above, the surround to Twister is really awesome (didn't originally win an award for that?).

It's also pretty much the only disaster movie I'll watch.

I wouldn't call it terrible. The DVD I would though. It was a warts and all transfer. I liked it though and was a huge step up from the DVDs

I did import this (I don't live in Australia but Europe).

Wounder why Wb juse so long time to release this film in other regions , even it is region free.

PS. The picture is very good.

As far as I am WB does not have the distrubition rights ouside of the US to Twister. Universal owns the rights.

While I did import from the US as I said I will be replacing the Warner HD-DVD port with the Universal blu-ray.

I ended up importing this from the US but I will definitely purchase it again when Universal releases it here in Australia.

Just noticed that EzyDVD (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/805836) has a release date of June 3. So will definitely get this.

The Warner release is outright pathetic due to excessive DNR. Here is hoping UNI will do a better job.

Wait, is this release not going to be region free? Or is it going to be Region A? I don't think the PS3 plays all regions, right?
