Default Looking to get a blu-ray pc, need some advice

so i want a new desktop and i want to be able to play blu-ray on my new tv.

i went to the local computer store and here's the package they suggested for me for $950:

intel core 2 duo e8200 2.66g
dimm ddr2 2gb 800mhz (2x 1gb)
MB gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l lga775
hdd st 250gb serial ata 16mb
dvd lite-on 4x blu-ray dvd sata
VGA sapphire hd3650 512mb pci-e
case atx fx-626 350w
ms vista home premium

is this a good setup for the price? or should i just go with a brand like dell or hp etc. my main concern is hdmi out.

There are a couple other threads on this topic, you may want to search for more details.

I responded to a past thread and the guy got his specs from the Tom's Hardware site, which would be another site to take a look at.

The spec is good but i cannot comment on the price as i live on the other side of the pond

I'd avoid Vista and possibly budget in a pci sound card as the onboard ones are normally a bit pants.

check Dell. I got my XPS 420 for $1100, yes it's more than your price, but I got an Intel 2.4Ghz Quadcore, 3gb ram, Nvidia 8800GT, Blu ray drive, integrated bluetooth, vista home premium and the case is much better looking than that beige thing they're trying to sell you. That was a few months ago so you might be able to get an even better deal now.
