Default Blu-ray advice needed.

Hi everyone, this is my first post so I am not sure if this would be the correct forum for my question.

After 3 years of owning a HD tv, I have decided to get myself a blu-ray player but I'm not sure which one to go for (or if certain players would suit my tv more than others). I have a Samsung PS-42S5H which only displays at 720p and I am thinking about getting a Sony BDPS360B blu-ray player.

However, I have heard that there are some issues regarding playback with this player on lower spec tvs (framerate etc) and I was wondering if this is true or false. Maybe someone could tell me if they have had any problems as well or if there is a more suitable player for my tv.

Another question is regarding sound from the player.

I will be connecting the blu-ray player via optical to my sony dav-dz660 home cinema unit. I know that true hd sound won't work via optical but would there still be an improvement in sound quailty over dvd (even if it is a small amount)?

Advice would be appreciated, thanks.
