Default Will Blu-ray look bad on 720p?

Hi,

Currently, I'm watching Blu-ray on my projector and when I go to college next semester, I want to get a TV for my room, but I want to know if getting a 720p TV will not look good with Blu-ray. I would like to get a 1080p, but they are quite pricey. So, does anyone know if Blu-ray looks bad on 720p?

Thanks.

No Blu-ray will not look bad on 720p. In fact it will still look spectacular. Many members here are still running their main setups in 720p including me (also in college). Granted, on a projector you will see a difference from 720p to 1080p since it is such a large screen, but for a college kid it's definitely still the cat's pajamas.

It will look very nice on 720P Much better than having a 480 source (DVD) and trying to upconvert that.

Haha thanks guys...and since you guys have 720p TV's, would you recommend any?

My Blu-ray player is this model: Panasonic DMP-BD30K 1080p player.

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMP-...&s=electronics

Could anyone recommend a 720p TV based off my player? Thanks.

Well you could get a 24-27.5" Computer monitor that does full 1080p and computer screen double duty for around half a kilobuck...

Default I need a TV

I'm looking for a TV that's between 30 and 40 inches, that's not too expensive, but has great PQ that supports Blu-ray.

Panasonic 37" 1080P 120Hz $1600

Panasonic 32" 720P $800

Panasonic 32" 720P 120Hz (this is the one I have, I love it) MSRP is $1300 but thats in canada, and its discontinued (last year's model) so you can probably find it way cheaper (my store has it for $999)

We need a sticky on this, or part of a FAQ. Very often asked.

To answer your question, no it won't. But BD full potential is 1080p.
