That would be awesome but I've never heard of a show being released a week or two after it's run ends

I have!

Take "Torchwood: Season Three" which The Digital Bits is saying will come out in July even though S3 doesn't even premiere til July (it's five episodes long and will complete it's run in a week).

The second and third seasons of Friday Night Lights have come out shortly after their seasons finished, with season 3 coming out May 19 for just $18.99.
If this was the common way of releasing tv shows I don't think I'd ever watch shows when they first broadcast. I love plowing through a season or even a whole series at one time.

Default SD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray

Does anyone know how much better the BD version is compared to the SD version. I am new to Blu and have have less than 10 BDs. They are all movies and I can say they the BD versions are superior to their SD cousin. But I don't know if television series are the same.

I have the SD version of S7 and it looks pretty good on my TV. I'm wondering much better it is on Blu. Thanks!

I just bought Season 7 on blu today and just tested out the first disc, the picture and sound quality is awesome. Probably going to start watching it properly tonight. Remind you i don't have the DVD version of S7 (only S1 and 2) and the blu-ray quality is huge step up from the DVD.

I hope they release 1-6, i only bought S1 and 2 because they were $20 each whereas S3-6 were $50. I'm just going to wait til they release those on blu.

Of course there is, as long as you have a 1080p HDTV and everything is connected through HDMI, native 1080p material (Blu-ray) will look better (sharper. more detailed) than the same material in 480p (DVD resolution) upconverted by your BD player.

Also, since FOX's HD broadcast is 720p and not 1080i, yes, there is a palpable difference, even on my parents' 2007 42" 720p/1080i Panasonic TV.

Unless you like grain, 24 season 7 on blu ray is a huge disappointment. There is just way too much grain in the picture. During the night time episodes anything that is black looks like a haze of gray grainy garbage

but if you dont mind grain then the blu ray isnt so bad
