Default There really needs to be a sleep timer on the PS3

That or at least an inactivity option. I swear i keep falling asleep watching movies when i had no intention of falling to sleep. wake up 7 hours later all my stuff is still running. ugh. I know people fold 24/7 and it wont hurt it, but i just hate it sitting idle all night.

There is an option for Folding@Home that after so long it'll start folding. I have mine set for 10 minutes.

Though it may not help you if you are not idling at the XMB screen.

I do agree that a sleep timer option would definately be nice.

I would have no use for it. When I get tired like I'm going to fall asleep I turn all the Home Theater stuff off and go to bed.

My projector has a sort of sleep mode but I don't like the sleep on the couch with the TV on lifestyle.

Maybe you need better stuff to watch?

I find that it is easier to just go to bed rather than set a sleep timer for my tv, reciever, PS3 etc.... Just turn everything off before you close your eyes.

What I find is that if I forget to put the remote in a really safe place, when the cats fight at night a button might get hit... the buttons are quite sensitive I find, and any single button on the remote will turn the PS3 on.

And my stepdaughter is also not very good at turning it off after watching a movie!

Your wife fights with the cats?

Put the controller in the drawer on the night stand

It should at least have the option to turn itself off after several hours of inactivity, like the xbox 360 has.

No,

After several hours of activity the xbox dies. That's different.

If it's such a issue then set F@H to come on and set it to stop within 15min if you have F@H.

TV is in bedroom so I set my alarm clock if I think I am going to nod off. Lately we have been getting alot of thunderstorms so I unplug everything before going to sleep. I'm not risking a surge.

Pretty crazy stuff we can find issues with. Some people in this world just trying to figure out where their next meal is coming from. We here wake up to our Blu-ray player still on and its a bad day.

Its all good... just some perspective... thats all I am offering.

Back to OP, I agree a sleep timer would be a nice addition. Although I don't think I'll use this feature, but it would be great for those who want it.

The reason this is so funny is because it's true.
