Default do any speaker work

This may be, or probably is a dumb question but do any speakers play HD sound, as long as you got the right receiver ( Onkyo 605)? Or do u need a specific type?

only thing you really have to worry about is the ohms....as long as there
the right ohms rating anything will work....That doesn't mean it's gonna sound good..

Here's a succinct answer to your question: YES.

More thoroughly: All speakers will play "HD sound". How good it sounds will depend on the speaker, source, room acoustics, ect.

it's like the amount of power the speakers can handle...look on the back of
your speakers there should be a sticker that tells you what they are....

No, that would be RMS. (Wattage)

Actually, it would be watts as a measure of power use (for speakers) or production (for amplifiers). Root Mean Square (RMS) is simply a statistical measurement technique commonly used to provide a useful (and common) measure of watts. RMS technique is used for zillions of things, besides watts.

Ohms is the unit of measurement for an electrical property called impedance. You can think of impedance as friction for electricity. Ohms just tell you how much impedance. Most receivers handle 4 to 8 ohm speakers but you might want to check you owner's manual.

For your original question as long as the speakers works with your receiver they don't care about HD or not. In fact the speakers have no way to know about HD sound. Everything in respect to HD sound processing is handled within the receiver and/or player.
