Well there is next month's Disgaea 3, but they say they still used ps2 level graphics

Then there is PS3 Eternal Sonata and Persona 4(PS2)

I might try Valkyria though, the GX are amazing, and the RPG/Wargame thing intrigues me.

I dunno what you have against sega, but Valkyria Chronicles is awesome. You should give it a shot when it comes out.

i kno its not RPG...
but some of my favorite strategy games were from Sega...
Shining Force 1, 2 and 3... even tho i only was able to play SF3 Scenario 1 for my Saturn...

Japanese Role Playing Game. In other words games like Suikoden, Breath Of Fire, Wild Arms, Dragon Warrior etc.
Stateside Role Playing Game(?). Folklore, Dark Cloud and the like. Some are known as Action Role Playing Games as well.

Well it wasn't always like this. The classification of these games just recently started to get crazy. First it was RPG, then it was J(Japanese)RPG, now there are S(strategy)RPG and recently its been A(Action)RPG.

But to answer your question, Japanese RPGs are games from japan with heavy anime art styles and themes.

There's also TRPG, Tactical RPG, which is games like Disgaea and Final Fantasy Tactics. I think this is just an alternate form of SRPG, but I can't keep them all straight anymore.
