I'm on sucky Hughes satelight internet (my only option other than dial up.)
I can only download x amount within a 24 hour period before I am subject to their fair access policy or whatever it's called. Until I got a ps3 I never went over the limit, but now with downloading demos, updates etc., I go over it quite a lot. However they do have a 3 hour period between 3-6 am where downloading doesnt count against the threshold. My question is; is there a way to have the ps3 scheduled to download whatever it may be at a certain time without me having to manually do it? It sucks having to wake up at 3 am to start a big download and then have to wake up again at 6 to stop it. If the ps3 wont do it, is there a way to download from the sony site via pc,copy to a dvd or cd then xfer it over to the ps3? If so,is there a way to schedule to pc to do this without me being there. I just want to be able to tell the ps3 or pc to wake up at 3 am,start downloading whatever I may have qued up,and stop at 6am. Any help would be appreaciated!! |

Get yourself a PSP setup remote play and you can do it from bed without having to get up! Still need to wake up though!
You can go to the store and download from your bed! |

Odd question, but does your work have internet, or another way of you being able to access the internet like a public library? If so, you can use a portable USB drive and download it, toss it on there, and then update your PS3 via the storage media.
I've done this a few times when an update comes out late at night and I have to go to work, mostly because my work connection is a LOT faster then my home connection. |
