Default X-Files 3 straight to DVD???

I have not seen the second installment yet, but I liked the series and the first release. Dread Central is reporting that a third X-FILES movie is in the works but instead of getting lost in the wake of THE DARK KNIGHT it would go direct-to-DVD.

Well-
what I read with whoever wrote this one (not Chris Carter)...was that if there even was a next one, it would probably go back to the alien mythos and maybe go direct-to-dvd. It was a very casual statement and I think it was just meant to reinforce the fact that they were downplaying the box-office.

I don't think anyone was at all stating part 3 WILL BE direct-to-dvd!

I was a little surprised by the direction the new X-Files movie took. It is definitely worth watching if you liked the tv series, but it never really feels like a movie. It felt much more like a couple of standalone tv episodes from the series. It is much different in feel from the first movie.

Um, why. The series wasn't in theaters and most episodes were awesome. That rational is just stupid. The second movie was in theaters and it was nothing special. Money doesn't mean good.

exactly! some of the biggest money makers are not near as good as the money pit that was i want to believe. at least domestically anyway. which is odd. the movies do better overseas than they do here. oh well.
