Default Blu-ray via VGA Cable...am I Getting True HD?

Hi everyone...

Brand new member, looking forward to learning a lot here.

I have a Sony VGC-RC310G Computer, with a Blu-Ray burner in it.

I have it hooked up to my 40" Sony Bravia KDL-V40XBR1, (720p max) via VGA. Audio is digital optical out.

The computer has a NVidia 7600 GT card, so for the VGA I'm using a DVI to VGA adapter.

My question is...using high-quality VGA cables, when I watch a Blu-Ray movie using this setup, am I getting high definition? I know that VGA is analog by its definition, and I wonder if I'm getting just a 'good picture,' not true HD.

Also, I know my set can only get 720p, but as you probably know, it's not 1080i but it's pretty darn good.

I also hooked it up via DVI to HDMI cable, which looked fine, but the picture was actually a little more noisy using DVI than VGA. The VGA looks very smooth and lush, while the DVI to HDMI looks kind of overloaded.

Any thoughts? I sure appreciate it.
