Default Help with speaker set-up

I know there are many, many threads on speaker placement, but this is a quick question that those threads don't really address.

I just got the KEF 3005 package and I'm having a hard time placing the front left and right speakers. Because of an odd room layout, I have to place them either within a foot of the TV or 4 ft away. My question is: which should I choose?

I'd appreciate any input you could offer. Also, if you need any additional info (like distance from seating position or room size), please feel free to ask.

Thanks so much!

It's best to keep the front spkrs close to and on either side of the screen so that they are at an equal distance from your listening position. If your room doesn't facilitate this then some amps can adjust for having different spkr distances.

Just based on the info you provided, i'd say put 'em closer. Don't know how big your room or tv is so i can't really give you advice on seating position.

may depend on your center...further apart makes a wider sound stage...closer will make a tighter sound....i'd try both and see which sounds better from your sweet spot
