Will the Sony BDP-S1 drop in price later this year?

When the $599 Sony BDP-S300 comes out later this summer, do you all think that the price of the BDP-S1 will come down?
I would like to get my first Blu player later this year, and I have heard and read nothing but excellent reviews of the BDP-S1.
Someone on this forum suggested that the BDP-S1 could drop to as low as $500 to $600, if not lower. As a Sears employee, I could get a reduced-price BDP-S1 even cheaper with my Associate's Discount Card (10%).

When the BDP-S300 comes out, I'm sure the BDP-S1 will be discontinued, so of course the price will drop. I would look to see the BDP-S1 start to drop in price within the next two months. I would probably wait for the higher end Sony player to come out later this year, as it will be a better player and most likely support advanced audio companies.

The Sony BDP-S1 can be purchased currently for under $780 delivered.

Soon the price should be around $734 from my sources. After the second generation BDP-S300 comes out you will easily be able to purchase the BDP-S1 for under $700 until inventory is depleted. If the BDP-S300 is better quality for $599, then I would recommend purchasing the BDP-S300. Hopefully the Sony BLU-RAY player coming late 2007 will be a highend player in the $1,000-$1,500 range. Details on the second BLU-RAY player have not been released yet.

Good news on the price falling but bad news for me as I paid full pop for mine. Oh well, such is life.
