Three regions, right? A, B, and C... well, I have three playback softwares on my laptops - so if I *REALLY* needed to, I could set one to each and play discs from any region.

Does having two different playback programs actually allow you to play back two different regions as many times as you want then for sure? I thought it would have been stored with firmware (something linked to the Blu-ray drive) or only let you change the region a few times?

No. The region is handled by the software not the drive like DVD.
There is a limit on the number of times you can change the region, but since it is all in the software...

I have 3 - WinDVD, PoweDVD and TotalMedia Theatre.
If need be, set region differently in each one.

4, 4, and 5 times remaining depending on the program.
