Default Weird Problem With My Onkyo 705

I have my PS3 hooked up using HDMI. I have a second cable running from the back of the receiver to the TV. Everything is working fine until I start up a movie. It will say 720p on my TV(which is what I want it on), but there wont be any video. It takes forever to get the picture back. I have to switch the HDMI cables around and then I will get it back. It wont always go out when starting up a movie, but I have yet to go two movies in a row without it going out. I still have sound coming from the speakers. This such a pain. If any one has any answers I would appreciate. If you need me to be more specific about anything, ask.

Sounds to me like the connection is not 100% somewhere. Try playing a movie and wiggling your connection to see if if affects your audio/video.

If it's been doing that from the beginning it could be a problem with the receiver. Also did you check all the settings on the receiver, PS3 etc?

Yep, all the settings seem right. The problem is I cant tell if it is a problem with the cables or the HDMI out on the receiver.

You can narrow it down if you try a different new HDMI cable. If it does the same thing after trying another cable then I would say it's the receiver. If it works fine then you know it was the cable. I'm leaning towards it being the receiver because HDMI cables either work or don't work. Never heard of one being intermittent. Hope that helps.
