just got enter the dragon myself the other day, first thing i notcied, the colours were so much better, some shots get a little fuzzy, but it is def worth the upgrade.

Wow, I didn't know that Oldboy was out on Blu-Ray! I guess it was just Netflix that didn't have it available on Blu-Ray. Thats great news as I found the DVD version to be quite impressive for a DVD. I can only imagine how it looks on Blu-Ray.

Yeah i know it's the HD-DvD but there both identical in PQ the Blu-Ray and HD-DvD

As for OldBoy. I own the tartan Blu-Ray and it's a great improvement over the DVD. Just don't expect miracles from it. The transfer was taken from Korean DVD master which is the best but it is far from perfect and still suffers from a lot of digital defects and yes grain.

But the main thing is blacks don't crush as they did in the previous detail and sharpness are spot on.

obviously enter the dragon isn't going to be a top tier PQ but its definitely worth upgrading from the Dvd. Looks great IMO saying as its over 30 years old.

lol a movie having "grain" is not something it would be suffering from. As grain is a normal process of film and a sign of a proper transfer.
