I have a minor problem with my 40 gb PS3 from time to time. When I load the blu ray it works...but sometimes it starts to flicker as soon as it starts to play (meaning right when the disc starts) over and over every 10 to 20 seconds. When the screen flickers it makes this "click" sound and the picture and audio disappears for a split second than comes back on. To make it go away I usually exit the blu ray menu back to the PS3 menu and restart the blu ray again or turn the PS3 on and off again. It's very annoying and it happens probably after every 3 blu rays that I watch. Does anyone else have this problem?

I think it could be a loose connection on either the player or the tv. With the devices turned off, try disconnecting the hdmi cables and re-connect them.

Reason being is that the cable itself could be getting warm to the point of losing signal. My suggestion is to try using another cable and see if the problem is still there. If the cable is not the problem, then id hate to say its your PS3 or TV. So troubleshoot and see what you come up with. (6ft HDMI cable if you still need one ![]() |

My friend has this exact problem he just got the box from sony to get it repaired we triple checked cabling and connections he even foolishly bought a new tv. So you should call sony about this after making sure all your connections and cables are ok it may need to be repaired also. |

That's what this is. The clicking is your receiver getting the signal and then losing it again.
Only thing you can do is update the firmware on everything. Some toys don't play nice with each other. Figure out what works best- sometimes turning on one device first allows the others to recognize it better and there's less issue with HDCP handshaking. I had a TV that I had to turn on LAST or it'd do that incessantly until I power-cycled it. |
