PS3 audio help please. - Blu-ray Forum

How come i get no bass when i play music using my ps3? I have my reciever set to PCM and my PS3 set to PCM and everything works great with movies and games but no bass when i put in a CD. Anyone else have this problem?

hmmm, no, sorry i'm drinking watching football also so am not totally
with it at the moment....Maybe your cd settings have the sub off or something

99% sure it is settings on the receiver.

me too, i have it set to Detect PCM and i can't remember how to change the audio types, but its a pain always havign to change my settings on the reciever everytime i want to listen to a cd. Maybe i should just buy a new reciever.

Check and make sure everything is set up properly in the CD player's menu. Also, in your receiver's menu, change the setup of the subwoofer to LFE+Main and see if it works. This setting is normally set for LFE only.

personally i dont expect the sub to work with two channel audio. only left and right speakers. but to get my sub working with cd's i use a listening mode on the receiver.

You have to have your receiver set to stereo not direct, straight, or pure
