Hey guys, I'm planning on upgrading my existing home theater system and have been doing some research around here and have already chosen a receiver, but my current system is basically a home theater in a box so all the wiring is spring clip wiring so I need to buy a new sub and I'm assuming new speakers as well. I've chosen the Sony DG820 for my receiver which has screw type fasteners and I'm assuming spring clip wiring isn't going to work here, at least for the sub. My question is are their any relatively cheap speaker systems that include all speakers and a sub that don't use spring clip wiring? I'd like to buy all at once to save cash and hastle I guess, but if I have to buy seperate I was looking at a cheapie Sony SAW2500 sub I think it was, but as for speakers I don't really know where to start. I'd like a complete set, at least a complete set of speakers in one box would be easiest, but any advice you could give would be great.
Thanks |

Buy these 5 beautiful Fluance Speakers factory-direct for $299 and get an Acoustic Audio Subwoofer: (8", 150W RMS for $89) or (10", 200W RMS for $100) or (12", 250W RMS for $130). If you have the money, buy the 12" subwoofer.
If $299 is too much money, buy these 5 for $199. If you want to spend more money, I can recommend $100,000 speakers ![]() Last edited by Big Daddy; 10-23-2008 at 07:39 AM. |

Outside of hearing the speakers for yourself (hard to do with factory direct, but I'm sure there's a return policy) and the slightly lower sensitivity than equivalently-equipped speakers, these seem like a good deal! They're definitely nicer looking than my Polks.

FCdrifter-I went from spring type connectors on my old Sony receiver to my 820 and I'm using Rocketfish banana plugs from BB on my 820. They work fine.
So you could get a better sub (and cable) now and save up for new speakers later on, if you wanted. |
