I just ran some CAT 6 Ethernet cables from my living room up into the attic and back down to where my computer/modem/router is set up. I purchased 50 foot cables from monoprice.com (1 cable for PS3 and 1 for my DVR)
I changed my PS3 network setting from wireless to wired and the connection works fine. It seems like the browsing and PS store loads up quicker. My issue....it's taking much longer to download something on the PS3 compared to when I ran the "wireless" setting and didn't use the cable (taking a long time on my DVR too). Question.....is the 50 foot ethernet cable too long?? Do I need to add something to the ethernet connections to speed things up?? I thought being wired would be much faster downloading (PS store, etc.) Thanks for any help! |
