Default Does The Christmas Release Period Seem Soft?

I just wanted to get everyone's take on whether or not they thought the first 3 weeks of December's release list seems fairly soft for the first true holiday season with Blu-ray?
IMO I was expecting some huge titles to be released to really spark some interest...

Not really. There are 22 Blu Rays I will be getting in the first three weeks. Definitely not all at once, but hopefully as soon as my wallet will allow.

I can see what you're saying. No big series like when they released the Matrix.

I would have been happy with the Blade trilogy <.<.

December is VERY strong as a whole, but starts off WAY too strong, and slows down big time. Maybe if they spread some of the Dec. 2nd titles to the 16th or 23rd, it would look better

December 2nd

Austin Powers: Man Of Mystery
Austin Powers: Spy Who Shagged Me
Austin Powers: Goldmember

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Jingle All The Way

Home Alone

Step Brothers

Wanted

X Files

X Files 2

The Day The Earth Stood Still

Casablanca

Shawshank Redemption

December 9th

The Dark Knight

Dodgeball

Supertroopers

The Mask

Lost season 4

Horton Hears a Who

Dumb and Dumber

December 16th

Planet Terror

Death Proof

Hot Rod

Into the Wild

Mamma Mia!

Mummy 3

Old School

Wedding Crashers

Traitor

December 23rd

Eagle Eye

Burn After Reading

Some parents also include November as part of the christmas blu-ray schedule, for kids who really want titles such as Kung Fu Panda or Wall-E.

I think it's probably because Blu-ray is going to be dead by the end of the year...

But seriously, there's a TON of movies at the beginning of December... then it just kind of trails off but who knows, maybe someone will announce some last minute stuff.

You guys have a point...I guess I'm a little too focused on things like The Bourne Trilogy, Star Trek Movies, Gladiator, The Rundown, Rounders...a lot of Universal and Paramount movies now that I think about it, except Rounders.
