Default HDTV has cut off picture

So, my families HDTV is an older model (a Pioneer Elite Pro720HD 64") and while I was watching Hellboy II yesterday on Blu-ray I noticed that the picture was cut off. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it but the picture is being cut off about an inch or two it seems. How does one adjust something like this? I was also watching Kung Fu Hustle today and the Subtitles at the bottom were getting slightly cut off. This also happens with Directv in HD. I'm not sure if it's because I use component cables or because it needs recalibration. I just want to know what you think. Thanks.

It sounds like it could be either too much overscan, which wouldn't be surprising on an RPTV, or the TV is in the incorrect viewing mode. Sounds like it might be set to some kind of zoom mode.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Somehow it's kinda zoomed in. I'm not quite sure how to fix it yet but I'll check it out.

There should be a button on the remote for pic. size, viewing mode, something like that.
