Default OUTRAGEOUS - Best Buy referring to Blu-Ray as HD-DVD

I just got the Thanksgiving Day flyer for Best buy - and they have the $9.99 Blu-Ray for Transformers - and the ad refers to it as HD-DVD. GEEZ LOUISE!!! New people are confused enough without stupid mistakes like this!

You have to be kidding with that. At this stage of the game, it is ridiculous for Best Buy marketing to be that incompetent.

I am absolutely NOT kidding about this! Go to the Best Buy website and find their Thanksgiving flyer - just in case it is only in my area - use zipcode 02189.

Outrageous!

it did say hd-dvd. But has a picture of blu-ray. I actually called them and told them and the guy had no idea what to say. hopefully the printed ad will be correct

All I can say is...WOW. How hard can it be for Best Buy to get the most basic of facts correct?!

That's entertaining and all, but you are in the wrong section for this. This is the Hot Deals section.

Hey, if it gets people to buy into it, call it Carl's High Falutin' Video Plates for all I care. Point being, I don't care what it's called, as long as it is adopted by the mainstream.

Worst-Buy makes more mistakes in their weekly ads than any company I know of

Then when you want them to honor something, they always point to corporate as a cop-out

I suspect more and more retailers will use HD DVD as shorthand for blu-ray in sales pitches and materials. HD-DVD is dead, I'm not worried how people refer to blu-ray as long as they build the business.

Can you find it somewhere in your heart (which I hope is not 5 sizes too small) - to forgive me??

HD DVD is the most ridiculous acronym for a consumer product. Five syllables is too much. Blu-ray is much easier to say. Whenever someone says HD DVD when referring to Blu-ray, they need to be smacked with a rolled up newspaper.
