Default What would happen if.....(HDCP question)

First let me thank you for you assistance with this question. I've not found an answer anywhere else on the web. So here it is:

What would happen if I connected:

Panasonic DMP-BD35K
with a 35ft HDMI - DVI cable to a
Sanyo PLV-Z1(non hdcp compliant, with DVI input)?

I'm assuming I'm going to get:
a>blank screen
b>reduced quality picture, worse than DVD or
c>reduced quality picture, but better than DVD

Frustrated early adopter,
Barret

If it's not HDCP it won't work. You're better off feeding in with the Component Out... at 1080i, it's you're best option. According to Projector Central, the Z1 doesn't have any Digital Inputs anyway..

There is a DVI input on the Z1.

I'm currently using component video cables for TV and DVD watching. If I were to use the same component connection using the Blu-Ray, I'm assuming the HDCP protocol will not affect the picture and I would also assume the picture would be better than with a standard DVD. Are my assumptions correct?

Thanks again.

Yes, you can set the output to 1080i. Altought you projector is 1/4 HD you should be seeing a difference but not as much as a 1080p projector.
