Default Onkyo speaker help....

Hi in need of some help with my onkyo 805. I have been noticing a vibratitng buzzing on certain frequencies from my left and right speakers they are onkyo SKS-HT540. It only happens with a certain kind of bass and it is hit or miss depending on the blu ray. But its really annoying! It did it straight out of the box so I don't think its damaged. But I am not a speaker genius so any help guys would be appreciated. Should I rerun the auddessy again or adjust it down manually. Input anyone?

Im pretty sure not a wire issue because they have worked beautifully for for 6 months just one certain bass frequency that makes it buzz.

I would guess you're either pushing them too hard/too far or you have a bad speaker. Does it happen with all of the speakers or just one? What is your crossover set at?

i would adjust it down manually. you may also want to check to make sure that auddessy didn't set your fronts to full band. if not, make sure your crossovers are set to 80hz+

if all else fails, you may have blown speakers

I believe its both but I don't know what the cross over is set at never looked. Man I hope it is something I can just tweak it I don't wanna have to replace it. Honestly I haven't pushed them to hard i keep it at the highest a -10 on my onkyo reciever.

Just go into the speaker setup and make sure "full band" is off. Set the crossover to at least 80hz, maybe even 100hz. Hopefully the sound will go away and you've not done permanent damage.

Ok did that I think it worked! What should the others be set at? Should they all be set at 80hz?

I really appreciate your help!

yes, you can set the rest at 80hz as well.

edit: also, you should set your lpf of lfe to 120hz. if you're getting resonance from deep male vocals from your sub, you may want to lower you lpf of lfe to 100hz.

You might want to look up the surrounds...... I know my rears are only rated down to 95hz. Since I have no options between 80 & 100..... I have my surrounds set at 100.
