Default Sad day for Patriots fans

Despite going 11-5 the Patriots will miss the playoffs. The only other team to miss the playoffs with this record was the 1985 Denver Broncos.
The Patriots lost to the Jets, Dolphins, Colts, Chargers and Steelers. All of these teams came into the final day of the season with a chance to make the playoffs.
After beating the Bills in the early game they needed the Jets to beat the Dolphins at home to win the division. Brett Favre had a typical Brett Favre game, throwing 3 interceptions, including a virtual game clincher when he threw a pass high trying to catch the defense off guard. I never liked Favre, and I hope his legacy is tarnished by his stupid and selfish decision that he wanted to come back right before training camp. I actually hope he doesn't retire, because I'll enjoy the day when the Jets release him. This is actually the 2nd time a Favre led team has tanked and kept the Pats out of the playoffs, as his Pack in 2002 lost to the Jets to give the Jets the division.
The GM of the Jets should be fired for trading for Favre. He had a good quarterback in Chad Pennington and released him for a over the hill Favre,. Pennington and the Dolphins are going to the playoffs, and Pennington is a legit MVP candidate.
I apologize for this rambling and for offending you Favre fans. I'm just saddened by an 11 win Pats team not making the playoffs, yet a 9 win Cardinals team (whom the Patriots blasted 47-7) and either a 9 win Broncos team (whom the Patriots blasted 41-7) or an 8 win Chargers team (who I admit, blasted the Patriots) making the playoffs. Thank you for your time.

I love the fact that the Pats aren't in the playoffs, not sure who I'm rooting for to get to the Super Bowl since my team doesn't ever make the playoffs (49ers). You are right about Brett Favre though, he came back because he didn't want his last pass to be an int. However his last game he throws 3 picks. Guess he's coming back next year till he gets it right.

It sucks especially after we won our game... i think ill actually be rooting for the Dolphins as they are underdogs but I want Matt Ryan's Falcons to go all the way (boston college alumni)... my pick to win it all the, the Colts... they are HOT right now and murdered the once unbeatable Titans today

Well they are my pick as well (being my favorite team and all ... ) but I don't think you can put much into today's Colts/Titans game. It was the battle of the second stringers for the most part.

The worst is that the Patriots miss the playoffs while the piece of sh*t Chargers can get in @ 8-8 with a win over Denver.

Yeah, any fans of teams like the Patriots and Cowboys complaining can just shut up.

They could be Lions fans like me.

0-16 this season.
1-23 in their last 24 games.
Went 3 consecutive seasons without a road victory. (0-24)
31-97 since Matt Millen was hired. He was finally fired early this season after a 0-3 start.
Has won 1 playoff game in 50 years.

You guys could have it worse.... much worse.

Brady is way behind on recovery there's a chance he could miss the 09 season, and Cassel a free agent. They have to give Cassel money for him to stay, would they trade Brady when he's healthy? They will have a ridiculous amount of money tied into the QB spot.

Matt Millen wasn't that bad...........he never went 0-16 So maybe he was a genius by winning a couple games a year.

Millen was fired after the team started 0-3. He was responsible for building this 0-16 joke. He might not have been here all season, but he put all of the pieces in place.

Good, I can't stand the Pats. This years playoffs are going to be really awesome I think since there is no real clear cut favorite but alot of good teams.

As a Jets fan, I'd rather have the Dolphins in the playoffs over the Pats.

Chargers would have spanked the Patriots, again, if they met in playoffs, so don't worry about it.
