Default are sony titles more likely to be released?

Since sony gets more economic benefit, would they be more inclined to release obscure catalog titles and also release other things sooner? If I see Sony as the studio and it's not like only a handful of people buy the dvd I wait for the bd .... good plan?

Sony has probably reached further into its back catalog for obscure Blu-ray releases than any other studio. But they do have many, many titles that may not see a BD release for years. It is always a gamble waiting for the Blu-ray to come out.

At CES last week, Sony said they are aiming to release 100 titles on BD in the US this year, covering both new films and back-catalog titles. That's quite a commitment - I doubt whether it will be matched by any of the other major studios. (Whether Sony themselves will achieve it of course remains to be seen.)

Well, I just hope this year they will finally bring out Bad Boys I & II, they have advertised it since Blu-ray started and it still hasn't been brought out. I would have thought it would have come with Seven Pounds but it didn't

There still is a chance for it to be tied in with 7 pounds. 7 pounds is coming in March I believe and the studios have only started announcing March titles. Give it time and we will see.

100 BD releases from Sony will be awesome, specially if Lawerence is finally released. Now if Universal were to open the floodgates
