this will probably be a blind buy for me, depending on price.
I'm loving that cover though! Hopefully it stays this way

Yes. Very solid film - gives a very '28 Weeks Later' vibe. Not a huge fan of the horror/zombie genre since it produces mostly garbage, but this was an exception. A lot different from the original, but better imho.

I thought it was a great film. Never saw the original but the remake was an extremely suspenseful and well acted film. I also found myself caring about the character's. It didn't have that cheezy vibe at all for a 95 minute film. Enough gore and scares to please if you're a horror fan.

wondering from the op where the source is. Amazon has no date.

I thought this movie was well made but it was just okay, everyone made it out to be the best thing out there, it was not.

Umm...everyone?

It got generally favorable reviews....71% on RottenTomatoes which is actually pretty high for a film of this genre, but I don't think very many people called it "the best thing out there."

DVDWorldUSA, DVDAf.com, etc. The date was actually up for a while, I was just waiting for some specs and/or a pre-order link before I created a post about it.

I saw it in theaters. It's well-made, thought not particularly scary or original (obviously

) I liked the vibe the director had going and I think Tim Olyphant has really improved as an actor.

Really liked this. I agree its not the best thing out there, but this is the rare case where there's actually room for improvement when remaking an original film.

I'm happy we got more than a 28 Days/Weeks Later clone with this movie. And you can't go wrong with Timothy Olyphant as a sheriff.

When I say "everyone" I mean word of mouth (NOT the critics) and yes I had a bunch of friends and strangers telling me "It's soooo amazing" "It's the best Horror movie in a long time" etc etc....Clearly it is not that amazing neither is it the best Horror in a long time. It was just well shot and acted, that's it.

It's okay. Kind of a standard genre film. Rental at best for my tastes.

June seems kind of far off for a February theatrical release. I was hoping to get this in May. Saw it in the theaters and like it a lot. Not great but would purchase so that I have it in my BD library. Plus I really like Timothy O. Justified is great!

OK just an FYI. This movie IS NOT a Zombie movie. Neither is 28 Days/Weeks Later. These films are in the genre of Virus movies. While on the topic Evil Dead is a Demon movie not a Zombie movie.
On topic. I will get this day 1.

This is retardedly nitpicky.

It is a zombie movie, plain and simple. There isn't a textbook definition of "zombie" that every single movie has to strictly adhere to.

It's a zombie movie, just a different kind of zombie movie.

It was not bad, I stopped caring after the car wash scene cuz they lost a character I did not want to lose. Other than that not too bad. And rickons is right, zombie does not equal "undead" although they are often interchangeable.

As well as that may be Virus and Zombie movies are not the same plain and simple. People just throw it into the Zombie pile cause they're to ignorant to learn the difference.
