Most of the new movies are getting a Blu-ray release. Fact is that Tyler Perry movies have not sold well in Blu so far.

Anyway, there are quite a few titles that never got BD treatment...or at least yet. One that I was mad about that didn't get released was TOWELHEAD. I loved that movie.

Good one. I'm still waiting on Charlie Bartlett from last year. You would figure the outstanding performance from Robert Downey Jr. alone would have warranted the studio to put it out.

I want to see that...

When a movie isn't in Blu I don't buy it. They really need to release all new movies in Blu =/.

I am miffed that The Family That Preys is not on BD as well. Same thing happened with Perfect Christmas last holiday season. Oldray DVD only.

Tyler Perry seems to be sincerely trying with his movies. I haven't seen any but they could be good =].

to the OP: its not like a requirement or anything...
its up to the publisher what formats they want to release their product on.
maybe the people behind this film's release did not feel the movie would appeal to enough of the Blu-ray consumers.

They ARE good... some are even GREAT! I especially loved "Why Did I Get Married" (released only on oldray DVD). Even the two Madea movies (again, oldray only) are superbly crafted with many positive messages targeted towards todays American youth. At least we have two Tyler Perry films on BD: Daddy's Little Girls and Meet The Browns.

If I was to try DLG or MTB which should I do first? Which is better made/easier to get into?

It depends on what you are into:

DLG is about an underdog father who is raising his three girls in the ghetto. He struggles to protect and keep his family together...and away from the girl's mother who is hooker/drug addict. He gets a job driving a lawyer, they fall in love and.....well, you have to see the bumps along the way for yourself. Idris Elba and Gabrielle Union make this film a glorious and immersive experience.

MTB is also a love story, but it is wrapped around the humorous antics of an off-the-hook southern relatives of a mother and son who faced hard times in Chicago. They head south to attend a funeral...and end up finding happiness and a new life. Angela Bassett stars in this film and she is always wonderful.

I personally like them both.

Ya I don't understand how movies like Postal and Disaster Movie get Blu-ray releases yet great movies like Charlie Bartlett, Son of Rambow and In Bruges don't get them.

Heres wishing that all these movies get a blu release soon.

I added both of them on Netflix. They sound really good .

Thanks for the help ^^! Hopefully if his movies start selling better more will be in Blu.

Some movies get delayed a long time from the DVD release. In the Name of the King took a few months after the DVD release to come out on BD. If it sells well on DVD they might consider it on BD. If it doesn't do well on DVD they probably won't release it on BD because they will assume there is no market.

I know just about everybody hated it but I wanted Skinwalkers on Blu Ray. But mostly because Sarah Carter's hot!

Yeah it sucks stuff like In Bruges or Happy-Go-Lucky aren't getting Blu releases. If I like them enough (like these two) I'll still pick them up on DVD, but I just wish they'd release them on Blu Ray.

And I wish Criterion would start releasing current releases on Blu Ray.
