Default SAW V: Picture & Audio

I'm sitting here watching Saw 5 and its got to be the best picture and audio of all the SAW movies. It has 7.1 dts-HD master audio. And the picture quality is really great. I am very pleased with it.

Oh, i am renting this early from my place of work Blockbuster Video, and its not even out on the shelves. I don't know if it is out anywhere.

It's out on Tuesday.

I'll probably get the DVD. I really want that whirring Saw packaging.

Cool

Was going to grab it from my rental outlet too, but just didn't feel like watching a movie tonight. Plus I've watched a lot of mediocrity lately, didn't want to add another title to the heap.

Packaging is more important to you than getting the best possible PQ and AQ!?

The packaging is pretty keen.

But in this case, I haven't upgraded the previous films due to the fact the Blu-Rays have been pretty awful. Not including the extended cut. Basically bare bones in the case of Saw 1. Not porting all the features. So I'm sticking with DVD for the series. I don't really feel like having some on DVD and some on Blu.

Ugh... I could not do that. I just can't stand to spend the money to buy DVD's anymore. Seems like such a waste. Like throwing money into a black hole.

When Blu-Ray gets more on board with cool packaging like this, then I might feel the same. At least Blu-Ray got the Iron Man mask and Indiana Jones book. But with stuff like Saw's Bloody packaging and Saw V's spinning saw packaging, I don't agree. The films upconvert just fine in my opinion anyway.

I think PQ and AQ are awesome on this, particularly the 7.1 audio track. Having the setup for it, it's definitely an impressive and immersive track. I love how each speaker is put to good use all at one time and their seperate times as well. The speakers in the back are used quite neatly.

Good thing I get my rentals for free, because not only did my (Canadian) copy only have the French version, the PQ was the worst I have ever seen on any Blu-ray Disc. Even movies like Evil Dead II at least have a film look that gives them an advantage, unlike this mess. The encode was also in 1.78:1 rather than 1.85:1, and there was a screen advertising the amateur company that made the encode and menu for Maple after the credits (I admit the menu wasn't bad).

Yeah I've yet to see it. Shouldn't judge it so harshly.

Since I own all 4, I might as well grab this one of course!

I thought this one was very well put together.
