Default Thoughts on Sanyo PLV-Z3000?

I've done the research and checked the reviews, and I have the Sanyo PLV-Z3000 at the top of my list to buy soon.

My HT room is 14' wide and 15' long. Bat-cave light controlled. Throw will be around 14' and primary seating around 12' from the screen. I will be using the gear in my sig (except for the Sammy) for now. With new acoustics on the walls and ceiling. And a fresh dark paint job.

I'm looking at a white fixed 106" screen 16:9, the bottom edge about 2 1/2 feet off the ground. With a low profile console under it for gear. (fan cooled)

I love my Sammy and looking for the "LCD look" - Just huge. I hear the Sanyo z3000 has the 120Hz motion.

Does anyone own this projector or have info on it? or better options in that range?

Thanks all, ahead of time.

I think a lot of people have the Panasonic. It got better review and it's just slighty more $$$. Yes the Sanyo have 5:5 to 120 from 24fps. The Pana have 4:4 to 96 from 24fps (Frame Interpolation). I have not heard of the Sanyo performance for that option but the Panasonic is pretty good at this..

Hey thanks, do you have the model number on the Panasonic?

I'm having 2nd thoughts on my screen size. I think I will buy the projector first and install it, then see what the picture looks like on the wall. I'm torn between 106" and 119"

I would recommend visiting some of the projector sites out there...projectorcentral.com and projectorpeople.com come to mind...and use the throw distance calculator to determine what the correct throw is for the models you have in mind. Once you have selected the projector based on the throw distance calculator, you can get it and project onto a wall like you were saying, and determine your best screen size from there.

Thanks all, doing as much prep work as I can before making the leap to projectors. I don't even have it yet and my 40" is getting smaller, and smaller, and smaller...

I've been looking at projectorpeople's site quite a bit.
