The PS3 cannot output Dolby True HD to the reciever. But what it can do is decode the Dolby True HD to PCM and send the PCM signal to the reciever. So, people who are saying you can't listen to dolby true HD tracks with the PS3 are wrong.

Paidgeek over at AVMS confirmed this currently is the case.

I remember that when PS3 was released they mentioned that all 1.3 features are not fully implemented at this point. My guess is when 1.3 recievers are out in the wild in large numbers, you will see bitstream support.

Exactly. Basically, right now it is very much a non-issue in everyway possible.
