PS3 sends bitstream over HDMI

There are talks about, that the PS3 cant send bitstream over HDMI.
Well, here is how you can choose bitstream over HDMI.

If you are in XMB, and go to:

Settings
BD/DVD settings
BD/DVD audio output format (HDMI)
Change it to Bitstream instead of Linear PCM.

The PS3 should send Dolby Digital, trueHD etc to the receiver so it will decode it.

The only problem for me is, I cant test it, and see if it actually works.

But, if you are using an HDMI receiver, you can test it. Select bitstream over HDMI, and play a BD in both Dolby Digital and then TrueHD. You should hear sound with Digital, but with TrueHD you shouldnt hear anything. (in theory)

Because PCM is uncompressed, PCM on BD should give you sound, even if you have selected bitstream on HMDI, right?
