Default Dell Studio XPS 16

Hello all, I wanted to ask all the experts if this is a worthy buy to playback all blu-rays? I ask since there have been playback issues on laptops in the past. The specs I want to purchase are as follows:

1) T9400 6MB cache/2.53Ghz/1066 Mhz FSB
2) 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1067 Mhz/ 2 Dimms
3) ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3670 512 MB

These specs are as they are listed on Dell's website. Hope I did not leave anything out. Thanks to all in advance for your help.

Yes, that spec exceeds the recommended system requirement. You should be able to play any BD with your new laptop without any problem. Just make sure that you update the software player and video driver from Dell website.

Just make sure you get the1920x1080 screen instead of the 1366x768 default

1920x1080 for a 16" would give him 138 Pixels Per Inch. 1366x768 would give him 98 PPI. 138 is way too high, making the font and all too small and too hard to read. 98 PPI is way too low, making the font and all a bit too big and wasted the 16" screen real estate. I would recommended to find another laptop that has around 110 PPI. It's a happy medium.

Some people may recommend to lower the resolution or changing the DPI. But neither solution is perfect. Changing the resolution to anything other than the native resolution wouldn't look good for an LCD screen. Changing the DPI may or may not look right, depending on the application. Some applications may look funny.

Or you could just plug into an external monitor for home use, and increase the font size when working (zoom in Microsoft Word, cntrl-mouse wheel in an internet browser). The high pixel density does not bother me and I plan on making this my next laptop this spring if something better doesn't come out.
