Default Blu rays that remember where you stopped

Watched Toy Story and Toy Story 2 recently. Discovered that the movies will start where you left off if you stop them. Watched the Time Travelers Wife today and noticed the same thing. Is this becoming the norm for all blu rays or just certain Studios? New line cinema for TTW.

since the beginning, it depends on if the disc uses bd-java. if it does then youll have to use bookmark feature, if not, then resume play will work

Even BD-Java discs *can* resume play, but that capability has to be programmed in. Can't remember who originally made that point--someone in an Insider thread. I don't own either of the Toy Story BDs (waiting for the 3rd), but Disney seems to have started making it a practice: I've noticed that both Ponyo and The Princess and the Frog present little dialog boxes in the menu stating something to the effect of "This moie has been previously viewed; would you like to resume where last you left off?" or some such thing (and they're both Java titles).

learn something new everyday doesnt seem like something that would be that hard to do then. seems kinda dumb not to do so.

It also depends on HOW you stop the movie. Usually, if you literally stop the movie and then eject, it'll keep your place. But if you eject as the Blu is playing, it won't save anything. I always do the latter, whether it's on my PS3 or my standalone players. The feature has the right idea, but if you finish the movie and stop at the credits. Next time you pop it in, it'll start at the credits. Total fail.

Newer Fox titles seem to do it. Avatar and Crazy Heart.

Yup, I accidentally ejected a DVD I was watching without stopping it first and then put it back in, it picked up where it left off. I hope blu-rays can do that soon, with all movies.

so does The Proposal, i watched it tonight and left the movie paused for over 30 minutes and my player automatically shuts itself off and the movie asked if i want to resume where i left off
