Exclamation Need reciever advice!

I've tried to save up and buy things needed to improve my home theater setup. Below is a list of things that I'm currently using. I am going to by a new reciever to replace the one I have. Which reciever should I go with and why? Thanks!

2 Mythos One Speakers (Definitive)

The ProCinema 600 Speakers (4 Definitive speakers, one center speaker, and a sub with a built in amp)

Denon AVR-1507 Home Theater Receiver (no hdmi support)

50-inch Panasonic TH-50PZ700U 180p Plasma HDTV

Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blu-ray Player

Again it's a new reciever that I need.

well I have a $100 off a purchase of $499 or more at bestbuy so I was thinking roughly around $500-$900. I know usually the better price dictates a better reciever but I'm looking for value if possible so I dont have to spend too much. So if you wouldnt mind maybe telling me of a great reciever for a high price and then one that could be slightly worse for a lower cost I'd much aprecitate it.

Build quality, audio performance, visual appeal...

Pioneer has always made top notch products.

If they made jump ropes, I'm sure they'd be one of the best around.

haha thanks for the input. I was just browsing looking at the Elite you showed me and came across a slightly cheaper model
(the Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH) and was wondering what the major difference with this one comapred to the one you mentioned was.

Sorry for all the questions, I just like learing about these things

the 03 has HDMI Jitter reduction, and also an Aluminum front panel rather the plastic like the 01.

Honestly the '01 would also make a great model. But for that same price, I would take the Denon.

and to throw you a curve ball, if you were open to buying from somewhere else rather than bestbuy...

My best pick would be a Marantz SR6003!

Check out ThriceBB'S HT Setup. An absolute stunner.

the guys at Audio Concepts are awesome. I spent a few hrs in there a couple weeks back. They will be getting my $$'s next time I upgrade.

If you can take a CD to a store and give things a listen, you'll have a better idea.

Both are going to be made with good components. They are great receivers. There is no wrong choice between the two.

I bought the 03 about a month ago from Magnolia. They are owned by best buy, and when I brought up the sale that BB had a month or so ago, they were happy to price match the 03 for me, so I got it for $699! It was a great price for an AWESOME receiver. I have it paired with the pro800's and pro1000's from Definitive. Hope this helps!

another feature that i think is commonly overlooked is the user interface or (gui). the better the gui the easier it is to setup and navigate through. start looking into that aspect also. the onkyo's have one of the nicest gui's ive seen

Denon AVR-789
http://www.usa.denon.com/ProductDetails/4560.asp

I recently upgraded to this over my Sony 5.1 receiver.

Easy set up thanks to Batpig
http://batpigworld.com/

I have my Sony BD-S550, XBOX360, and DVR hooked in...all output via 1 HDMI, all video processing done internally. Fantastic picture and sound quality.

Denon also has the 889, 989 in this series. I felt the 789 was the best value for the money.

If I could get that for the same price, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Hmm I guess I have some descisons to make (which I hate doing lol)

Nothing against Denon which makes great products but they really have issues when it comes to being easy to setup and such in my opinion. I seem to be in a toss up between the Elite 03 and the Marantz SR6003. I'm leaning a little towards the Elite but I just cant make a decsion
