BEST BUY/Silence of the Lambs SUCKS! - Blu-ray Forum

I just came from Best Buy. I live in Dayton, OH and they had Silence of the Lambs on Blu-Ray for $44.99.

Surely this was a mistake I thought.

Nope! After asking I found out that is EXACTLY what they have it priced for.

$10 over the SRP!!!!!

What a bunch of losers!

Saw that as well. I was shocked and went home and ordered it on amazon for 23.99.

Yeah , in another thread about this, someone said it was just an error. BB is f-ing crazy to put $45 on that movie...

Someone at corporate had accidentally priced it too high and when the UPC is scanned, this is the price that pops up. I'm kind of surprised the stores haven't taken action on this and lowered the price themselves.

I saw it that way at Best Buy also but they had a little sign in front of it saying it was $29.99 (that was release week though). I still thought the $44.99 tag on the movie had to be a mistake though since at the time it was listed as retailing for $34.99 on their website and being sold for $29.99. Now I don't see the blu-ray listed on their website. I still think someone screwed up somewhere and it's just being marked incorrectly. Otherwise, it's utterly ridiculous.

Edit: Nevermind, losts of people posted while I was typing my response. I missed the other thread on this and didn't realize it had been confirmed as a mistake.

The sticker was labeled the same way at my Best Buy. It didn't matter to me because I had them price match Sears at $22.49. When the cashier scanned it, it rang up at $24.99. So technically I only saved $2 and some change. Still not bad though.
