Default Polk 50's and a CS10

I just pulled the trigger on a Polk CS10 to go with my new Polk monitor 50's for left and right.

Already bought the CS10 so please tell me it matches well with the 50's...

Timbre will be as good as it gets between the M50s and the CS10. Very good choice.

I thought so, I heard the CS10 at Best Buy, and it sounded GREAT. Got it for $130 at NewEgg. I realized the center is really important for the front sound field, and mine REALLY needed upgrading.

Two days and counting...

Ditto & ditto --- mine was like New as well. It all depends on how you feel about buying them Brand New or Refurb. from the Mfg. - Like the 706 I bought with that Club Onkyo sale they had last week thru Sunday. I paid $430.10 (w/No Freight & No Tax!) for the 706; ordered last Friday, came in today. Ordered my NEW Front T90e's off NEWEGG on Monday (again, Free Shipping & No Tax) and they came in Today, just TWO Days delivery. I just finished going over my 706 with a flashlight and didn't notice any nicks or marks. But it is night-time so maybe I'll detect a nick or mark in Daylight tomorrow when I start to set it up. Maybe not. Plus it has a 1-year (Limited--whatever that means--??) Warranty.

So I don't think you overpaid. That's prob. one of the lower prices for it NEW, and if that makes you feel more comfortable, that's all that matters in the end. My 2 PSW-10's are Like new, but not brand new. 1 was from a guy I came across on this site, and it had only been taken out of the box to test, and put back as he already had 2 (!!--long story), so to me, it Was NEW. The other one was a Ebay/Polk Direct store buy - both were $199 total. So I have a mix of Brand New and Pretty much new (90% or more, to ME) incredible sounding Polk speakers. The Tsi100's will be my last buy for the Rear Surrounds off of NEWEGG, completing my Audio upgrade - and they will be New.

Good Luck!

Default long list

No buyer's regret, I cant wait to power up that thing

Next on my upgrade list:

Onkyo 606

Sub- earth shaking if possible

Maybe: Playstation 3 - for 99.9% movies

When I move back into my house:
HD Projector and 106" screen

You know- the more I upgrade, the less impact regular movie theaters have on me (not considering movie content)

+1 on the CS10...very good center speaker for sure.

The 606 will get the job done for sure. I do not know you $ situation, but a really good sub I hear that has gotten rave review is the eD A2-300. There is a thread on it if you would like more info. But for around $350, you get excellent bang for the buck, not to mention performance. That's the sub I would recommend anyway. The PS3, as it seems you already know, is an excellent blu-ray player.

And I hope you get back into your house real soon.....106" screen huh? Very nice indeed!

Go to:http://www.accessories4less.com/make...ceivers/2.html

Here is the place to get your Onkyo 606. The get refurbs in about 1 every two weeks. I have used them twice and they are AWESOME!! Ships from Orlando and cost are reasonable to get them delivered. Still 1 year warranty from Onkyo and saves about 300 bucks. That is almost enough left over for a PS3 or an earth shaking sub!!

Now you just need some Polk 40 surrounds! *hint hint*

Grats on your speakers. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

How do the 40s work for surrounds? They were just too big for me. I got the 30s as side and rear surrounds.

Aesthetically, yeah they're pretty big. They're fine with me even with my sort of weird setup but my wife (who's 7 months pregnant) is getting a little fed up with them. I think they sound great too- I was watching Baraka last night and was amazed by the overall soundfield. I can understand the need to get something smaller, though.
