Polk CS1 vs CS10 - Blu-ray Forum

Hi, I recently ordered the Polk CS1, Polk Monitor 50s, and Polk Monitor 30s. Anyways, Newegg/UPS messed everything up by losing the Polk CS1 during transit. They are going to refund my money and give me $10 off my next order.

My question for you guys is, how does the Polk CS10 compare to the CS1? I've never owned Polk speakers before and would just like to get it right. We're looking at $69.99 (CS1) vs $139 (CS10). Also, the finishes would be different (Monitor 50/30 would be Maple (CS1 would be maple as well) and CS10 would be Black.

I would stick with the CS1 if i were you, that way you'd be timbre matched to your speakers. If i'm not mistaken, the CS1 is a perfect match for your Monitor 50 fronts.

The CS10 is a better speaker all around- more efficient, better frequency range, etc. But it's barely better (on paper, no less), for a much higher cost. The drivers are all the same size and material, so timbre-matching MIGHT not be an issue.

The TSi line is supposed to be the replacement to the Monitors- a little more in the looks department is the big difference. Personally, I agree- go with the CS1 or CS2- they're both much cheaper and are definitely timbre-matched.

I have the CS10 with monitor 50's all in Cherry and they work great together. I'm not sure what the timber matching is or does but I assume it has something to do with keeping the same series together, but as I said my sound great together even with only using satellites for my surround.
