Default HD-DVD drive in every Toshiba laptop in 2008

Toshiba to put an HD-DVD player in every Toshiba computer. And HD-DVD fanboys harp on BR for being in the PS3??

Quote:
But then, out of the blue, Toshiba pulls a fast one and if, successful, will catapult HD DVD back into the race. According to Toshiba senior vice president, Hisatsugu Nonaka, from 2008 every Toshiba laptop will sport a HD DVD drive as standard. Talk about setting the cat among the pigeons. This is a bold statement and a bold move.

It’s already been posted elsewhere. I'm curious to see what kind of hit they are taking by giving the drives away for free.

It won't have much effect on me. I'll never buy anything with the Toshiba name on it again.

And nothing brings out the quality of HD quite like that 15 inch laptop screen.

Yep. Besides, these drives are not really even there for HD, they are there for storage and the PC world has already chosen blu-ray over HD-DVD as the next-gen standard for storage.

Well it looks like people who buy those laptops will have something to watch their HD-DUDs on, oh wait by the time they come out they won't be any HD-DUDs.
