Jack Black said it best, every year he makes a Dreamworks animated movie, and every year he bets his salary on Pixar to take the Academy award.

You always get the feeling that Pixar develops an actual story as the basis of their movies while Dreamworks Animation pitches a title and the voice cast as the basis of the movie.

I liked Kung-Fu Panda (way) more than Wall-E and Ratatouille... but otherwise Pixar has been solid where Dreamworks is iffy.

I've liked some of the dreamworks pictures, with Kung Fu Panda bieng up there at the pixar level (it's even better then some of them). Let's face it, Kung Fu Panda is probably the best animated film not to win the oscar for best animated film.

Dreamworks: "...And at the end, they all have a big party and dance to 'Everybody Dance Now'"

Not to mention--having just finally sat through '05 Disney's desperately and neurotically faux-Dreamworks "Chicken Little"--the rule of Dreamworks Dialogue--
In which Talking Fast & Staccato = Funny...Not to mention overlap and mock-improv stretching every joke to within an inch of its life, turning the Comic Rule of Three into the Rule of Eight, Nine or Twelve:

("'Stretching gags? What d'you mean, stretching?"
"I mean stretching--"
"No, what, what're you talking about, what, with the 'stretching'?"
"I mean, you take a gag, and you stretch it, and that's the 'stretching'...I-it drives you nuts!"
"You mean like stretch pants?
"No, I don't mean like stretch pants, I mean stretching gags."
"You're saying I'm wearing them?"
"No, I'm not saying you're wearing stretch pants--"
"I don't have to wear these y'know; I just wear them because they're comfortable."
"I like your pants; I wasn't talking about your pants."
"You're saying they make me look fat?"
"No, nobody was talking about your pants!"....)

(Uh, "Monsters Inc.", "Cars", "Lilo & Stitch", "Bolt", "Ice Age", "Howl's Moving Castle", "Persepolis", "Triplets of Belleville", "Surf's Up" and "Treasure Planet" didn't win either, just so you know...)

Kung-Fu Panda was ok at best. Like most Dreamworks titles other then Shrek (Original) there is nothing special or great in them like Pixar movies have
