Default Why are most of the PIXAR, Dreamworks CGI Not Full Screen Aspect Ratio?

I don't understand why they don't make these 1.78, or 1.85, it's not like there are constraints due to cameras. Also, if you look on here there are many that say they're 1.78, or 1.85, and they're not-coupled with Amazon they're both inconsistent. On here it says Bugs' Life is 5.1 DTS MA, it's actually 6.1. Is it that hard to get the specs right? Am I the only one irritated with these two facts?

A non-1.78:1 aspect ratio is not a "limitation of the camera", it's how the movie is.

It may be because that's how the Director wanted to frame the characters in the animation. Wall-E use 2.40:1 and even simulated an Anamorphic lens through their software. Aspect Ratio's are not contraints of cameras. Every Director and his DP has an option of what ratio they want to shoot in.

I always thought that the aspect ratio was a constraint due to the fact the director wanted to take a wider looking perspective, so you're saying I'm wrong in this assumption?

In using the word "constraint", yes. The rest of it, no.

The wider CGI films are that way because the director wanted to show a wider perspective in the film.
