Default Why Is It Taking So Long.....

For all the great titles that almost EVERYONE wants to get released on BLU?
LOTR, Star Wars, Gladiator, The Alien Quadrology, Jurassic Park movies, Back to the Future Trilogy, Gone With the Wind, Indiana Jones, Titanic, Deadwood, Carnivale, Twin Peaks, Buffy, Battlestar Galactica, 24, ETC......

You get the idea. Shit movies get released every week. But we still wait...and wait....and still wait for great titles. Yeah, I know some of these have actual release dates, some sooner then others, but it really shouldnt take so long for them to get released.

Lets stimulate the economy already......release these titles.

"shit" movies are not "shit" movies to everyone. everyone has different tastes, so even if you or i hate a movie there is still an audience that will buy them. bluray is still a fairly new format and more and more in-demand titles are starting to be released (Indiana Jones trilogy, Aliens, Gladiator, LOTR & Back to the Future are all in the works for example) as blu starts to get more and more mainstream, but they won't just come out all at once because we want them to. try and keep in mind how long it took certain titles to come to dvd...

With these so called "SHIT" movies that get released every week is because they are the newer films, they have to keep up with trying to make money and get those newer movies on BD first.

I don't completely agree with you, but I don't disagree either. It seemed like when BD first started, the crap far outweighed the good stuff, because the point was to sell people repackaged crap, while they were fascinated by this new Blu-Ray thing. If you put out Star Wars, and The Godfather, and other big movies early on, the crap-stuff would never sell.

Of course, this wasn't completely true, because if you launch a new format with a bunch of crap, that's probably a good way to guarantee it will fail.

Anyhow, I like that everything is spaced out, because it gives me more time to enjoy stuff as its released, rather than having everything dumped into stores at once, and trying to slowly pick away at it.

I'm sure it was the same thing with DVD as A new format ! It took time to have the DVD from the VHS on older films ! They just didn't come out all at once .

True. I'd rather wait 2 - 5 years for a good copy than just have a DVD transfered onto a Blu disc.

Quality takes time, if they release the low AQ and PQ stuff quickly I won't buy it. They should have taken time with Lethal Weapon, and many other 2006 discs, as well as some newer ones. Their must be a thread somewhere that just talks about horrible transfers.

The longer we have to wait for the "good" titles to come out, the more people will buy them and the more likely they'll be to pay top-dollar for them...because they (I mean we) want them badly.

Also, the more people get used to the idea that even $hit movies look good on Blu-ray, the more steam the format will pick up and the more likely that the awesome movies will reach more people...because they "see the light" now, and now that they see the light, they'll buy the Blu-ray series since they're acclimated to the format.

To put in another way: if Star Wars and all these sweet series we're waiting for were ready to go when Blu-ray was first released, I honestly don't think the format would do as well as it's shaping up to do now. Kind of like "blowing your wad" or whatever. The best is yet to come!

There is a flipside to this in that if the awesome series were ready to go from day one, more people would have bought into Blu right away. I don't really think that's the case (mostly because the cost of Blu at that time was pretty high relative to DVD), but someone could argue that point.
