Default Netflix: Why no American History X or Final Destination on Blu?

I'm not had a Netflix account for very long yet. I'm curious if anyone can tell me why there's no Blu option for American History X or Final Destination yet? Is that common with catalog titles?

Probably cause the owners of the movie have so far not decided to license it for rent. Either way I don't really care cause I either like a movie at which point I buy it or I don't at which point I ignore it. But that's just me

Same goes for Any Given Sunday, there are lots and lots of blus they don't carry. Just one of the many reasons I canceled my subscription after 4 years.

Theres no such thing in the US as that. The First Sale Doctrine, which gives retailers the right to rent any legally purchased copies.

Quote:
Copyright owners sometimes affix warning notices to packaged DVDs, or display notices on screen before showing the content, which purport to list uses of the DVD that are forbidden under copyright law. Such notices do not always fairly reflect the buyer's legal rights established by the first-sale doctrine.
So Netflix is just slacking

Yeah, I don't understand how Blockbuster is able to have an exclusive agreement with Weinsteins for their rental. Does Netflix still rent Weinstein movies and just have to buy them retail instead of from a supplier or can they not rent their movies?
