Default do external enclosures accept any capacity drive?

In the specs it just says accepts SATA ... so would that be for any capacity (i.e. for 1TB as well as 2TB etc)?

I have some older enclosures too that accept SATA ... would they work for any capacity too? When I purchased them I think the product page said "up to 1TB" or something ... but that was as big as consumer drives were back then.

Capacity is irrelevent to the enclosure.
Hard Disk physical size matters.
A 3 1/2" enclosure is best suited to a 3 1/2" HDD.

If the 2TB drive is normal size - and fits, no problem!
