How do you start a game?

inFamous thread made me wonder how most of people are playing their game? Do you start a new games: on easy, normal or hard?

I always start a new game on normal, without bother with trophies. After that, if the game is fun enough, I go back through the game in hard setting to get all the trophy (or in normal if some trophies are too hard to get on hard difficulty)

depends on hte game .. depends if i tried a demo to already gauge the difficulty ..

i dont play games offline, but i always leave things on default level for my online gaming

i dont want the AI @ 75% and humans @ 25%.....then human players never do a thing as the ai runs faster, jumps better, tackles better, shoots better etc

Anyways, I usually start my game on the normal difficulty to get the full experience.

Playing on easy is no fun at all to me. I start it on Normal but if I see it going too easy for me, I start over on hard. I like a challenge. That's what's fun to me.

i play on normal, if the game is appealing and i feel like playing through it again, i'll play on hard. or even "Crushing"

however some games rarely make me start off on hard. (i.e. god of war) since the gameplay tends to stay as the originals.

Usually. With a game like Ninja Gaiden, normal is hard so I go with normal. Sometimes I'll go hardest even when there's 4 or 5 difficulties, Breakdown for example.

It depends if I'm renting the game just for the trophys also what the trophys are.

If I am renting it just for the trophys and the majority of the trophys are not determined by difficulty, then I play the game on 'Easy'. If it is based on difficulty, then I pick the highest difficulty.


If I am buying a game and playing it normally, I play it on Normal.

If I'm starting a game to really go all the way through and enjoy it, I'll start on Normal, I'm usually very hesitant in starting on Hard.

If I'm just playing around and want to blow some sh*t up...then easy...i.e. the Red Faction demo.

I usually do normal because many games require you to finish on normal/hard to unlock the next difficulty. If that doesn't apply, I may pick easy.

I agree with that a too easy game is just not that fun for me!

I lost my gaming skills years ago, so I always play on easy. But maybe that's why I've yet to gain back what I've lost!
