Default Something doesn't make sense.

I bought a Sharp Aquos 52" earlier this year, hooked it up to the PS3 with HDMI Cables......pictures great.....happy as all get out.

Until today, I bought Cars on BD, watched it with the fam, nice flick.....going through the extras and I see "Watch Epilogue in HD".

Huh.....I thought this whole thing was HD.

Let's take a gander. So I que it up, and my eyeballs about pop out of my head....

The epilogue was in HD, you can see it.....sooooo if that's in HD what the heck have I been watching the last few months, and why the heck am I paying so much for these friggin BD's if they're not in HD????

the thing is HD....you can watch the epilogue separately without the credits rolling through it...

its the same HD setting as the rest of the movie...you may have been cold-cocked with the beauty of blu-ray at 1080p after watching the other extras that are SD 480p...

Also. If the whole movie is 1080p, why the need to have the "Epilogue in HD"?

When the early BD releases were coming out the extra feature were usually 480p because they were just taken from the dvd, like jkwest stated above. Now we are seeing 1080p extras more often, and they want to promote the fact that these features are getting the full hd treatment of 1080p.

With a PS3 you can hit "Select" on the controller to check the resolution and make sure you're getting what you're supposed to. You might also check the video settings in the PS3 menu to make sure you're outputting at 1080p.
