Japan Press queried about MGS: Peace Walker PS3 release with online multiplayer

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Bootcamp

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker could get a PlayStation Network release
Quote:
"So after I had done the preview, [Konami] had a Q/A session with us to get our complaints/ideas about the game," PerLee reported. "Other than the basics, they asked what we thought about if they released it on PSN for the PS3 as well and had online multiplayer."

While it's not uncommon for a developer to ask journalists these focus-group questions, it is interesting to note that the Konami representative asking the questions actually wrote down the answers. It could just be that the developer wants to anticipate criticisms of the game in forthcoming reviews, or it could be research for Hideo Kojima's new mystery project. Or there could indeed be a PSN release for Peace Walker farther down the line.
Yes please! But skip the Konami Online service this time.

As much as I love MGS (name, avatar, etc ), i've also come to accept the reality that Konami/Kojima Prod are pretty much prick teasers and that's about it. They come out and make subtle comments, making the individual come to the logical conclusion they want to lead you to, but never actually get there. I believe this is done just to generate hype/word of mouth/etc.

For example, in this case, in order to bring more people to look at or notice PW, they publicize a Q&A session regarding what people would think of a PSN release knowing full well everyone would want it. They did the exact same thing with the trophy fiasco for MGS4. All that "we hear you, just be patient" nonsense was just a way to generate more sales in anticipation of trophies, with nothing of Substance (I couldn't help myself lol ) to back it up.

They led us to think trophies are coming, without them actually ever making a definite statement, and then while everyone is scratching their heads about it, KP basically says "nothing was ever officially announced".

I beleive the same thing is happening to PW.

I'm done with Kojima...I'm taking my prick over to Sega for Bayonetta to tease lmao

I think you may be right but one can dream (and Peace Walker seems to deserve more attention than it's getting)

Depending on who and how they asked, it could also just be a misunderstanding, as Peace Walker will obviously have a PSN release, and other PSP games have had online multi-player.

I think it's a done deal, they're doing it. They're just doing last minute double checking to see about a port interest. They just can't go too quick, because after all, the game isn't even out in NA.

Kojima himself said the way PW is built, they could do an easy transition to ps3/psn.
